Organize, Organize, Organize
Clutter isn’t something we’d want to see every time we go to work. This not only provides chaos but also messes with our focus. Not only that, it can be time consuming to sort through all the messy piles of paper just to find that single paper you need. Messy piles of important documents can also spell the doom of the company. Just imagine how much unnecessary expenses mismanagement and bad bookkeeping can cost. Oh, the horror!
Organization is the key to an efficient work space. To prevent important documents from getting lost or god forbid, getting into the trash, utilize filling cabinets for different files. For example, make a separate file for customer information, invoices, vendor information, and whatnot. The key here is to not overcomplicate and to be consistent in your method of filing.
Another tip is to archive past or outdated but potentially useful documents to a warehouse or a storage facility to free-up office space. Important documents that are needed immediately or continuously, on the other hand, should be within easy reach. For this, instead of using filing cabinets, use file trays or wall-mounted pockets. Use pencil holders, mail bins, and drawers for other essential items.
Once you’ve organized your office, you’ll see just how easier it is to get the necessary files need and how easy deep cleaning would be in the future.
Stock Up on Disinfectants
Our offices can be a breeding ground for bacteria if left unchecked. For this, you’ll want to have plenty of disinfectants and antibacterial in stock to keep those germs and bacteria in check. Work productivity is hinged not only in efficiency but also on our employees’ health. Without proper disinfecting, we may end with an empty office due to flu or a stomach bug.
Another thing, aside from disinfectants, it’s also essential for us to avoid the proliferation of bacteria as much as possible by avoiding food messes. I know that when the workload is high, most of us opt to eat at our desks to save time. And we know how messy this can get. Crumbs, liquids, and other stuff inevitably fall into our desks and even our keyboards. If not properly cleaned, these stains and mess will eventually be swarming with all sorts of bacteria. Give your desk or your work space a quick wipe at least once a day with a disinfectant or a multi-purpose cleaner to prevent this from happening.
