Centre for Culture and Arts and its details

Centre for Culture and Arts looks very great since it is built in Aleppo, Syria. It has been known that Aleppo becomes one of the oldest cities in the world which is perceived as one of the most important and influential cultural center far beyond Syria and the Arabic world.  To make a glittering sense of that, it has been decided to open an international competition about the design of a cultural centre.

“It has been reviewed from archdaily.com; Aleppo is one of the oldest cities in the world. It has always been perceived as one of the most important and influential cultural centers far beyond Syria and the Arabic world. To live up to this fame the city has decided to open an international competition about the design of a cultural centre whose main program is to comprise in addition to a library also an opera and a theatre. This proposal by Marc Anton Dahmen / STUDIO DMTW is designed so that the volume of each of the three main functions, opera, theatre, and library, is optimally tailored to the specific demands of the respective utilisation and clearly visible from the outside.

Further information concerning with Centre for Culture and Arts

The most important thing to know is that the position of each function depends on its interfaces with the other functions in the building. All important transparent parts of the building — such as the background of the stage of the theatre and parts of the facade of the large reading hall – will refer to the nearby world-famous citadel of Aleppo. All main functions of the building from the first floor upwards surround an interior yard that can be accessed from the outside by foot and by car via an extended ramp. Overall, it can be said that the project of Centre for Culture and Arts is great.
